We Saved Shenmue

I’m not going to sugar coat it.

For far too long, SEGA has been doing moronic things, such as but not limited to ruining their flagship franchise (still waiting for a damn good Sonic game). For once in a long time, it’s nice to see them actually take a real leap of faith, and trusting Ys Net to continue the Shenmue story, which has left many of us hanging for far too long (14 years or so, but hey, who’s counting a this point).

I just have to say though, while I understand the need to use Kickstarter to make this happen, it initially made me a bit angry that SEGA would be so stingy and cheap that they actually forced the hands of the gamers to fund the project, rather than them using their own capital to do so.

Then I was quickly reminded, they are broke as all hell.

Seeing as such, I’m going to just pony up an do my part. I just want to make it clear though, my money towards the project is not a vote of confidence in SEGA, but an offering that will in turn become a product back by the mastermind of Yu Suzuki and his team.

One last thing before I move on: FIX THE VOICE ACTING. I understand the footage used in the Kickstarter page was preliminary, but to whoever is in charge, don’t cut corners, or there will be both hell to pay, and confidence to lose from all gamers.
